Opportunities

Cascade Locks Fire and EMS is always looking for new volunteers. If you think you have what it takes to serve the community and surrounding areas, we encourage you to come down and apply. If you aren’t sure, come down to the station, check things out and talk to the volunteers. We are always happy to answer questions. The fire department will put you through the training that you need in order to operate and be safe in the emergent and non emergent situations we face. Below is an outline of the hiring process.

1. Obtain an application.

2. Submit completed application with a copy of a valid drivers license and a copy of your high school diploma or GED to City Hall.

3. Background check and driving record is done by the City and you will be asked to take a drug test.

4. Oral interview and physical agility test is done at the fire station.

5. Once accepted as a volunteer, there is a six month probationary period to complete.

If you want to help out but don’t feel that you have the time, energy, or ability to volunteer, we do accept donations to help obtain new equipment and gear to continue keeping the volunteers, community, and visitors safe. With ever increasing costs for medical supplies and fire equipment, the need for donations is more important than ever. If you’d like to donate, click below. We thank you for any contribution to assist us in our mission.
